Colour Blindness

Entry to the industry is not allowed if you suffer from colour blindness. Unfortunately, if you do, we will not be permitted to allow you to take up a JTL apprenticeship.

This is a serious safety issue as, given the nature of the work involved, any accidents that could happen, could be lethal.

Once your application has been accepted you must arrange with an optician to have a colour blindness test and provide us with evidence of “absence of colour deficiency” (i.e. a passed colour blindness test). Any optician will be able to conduct this test and provide you with the results. You must take this with you to your Initial Assessment. If you do not provide the appropriate evidence you will not be allowed onto JTL's Approved Applicant List and to progress with your application.
