Employer Information

Who could I work for?

Without a job this is all worthless, and we only partner with the best employers.

Whilst we will introduce you to employers in your area who have indicated to us that they think an apprentice will benefit their business, it is down to you to also look for an employer to work for during your apprenticeship.

Begin doing this as soon as you decide that a JTL apprenticeship is for you because you cannot begin your apprenticeship until you are employed. Your Training Officer will be able to give you plenty of advice on employers in your area, but you must show some initiative and look for a job yourself.

If you already have an employer lined up, then talk to us now as we will need to be certain that they are able to support you properly throughout your apprenticeship.

All sorts of companies take on apprentices:

Quite often JTL apprentices work for a small local companies.

Take a look at Stuart and Andy’s stories to see what this can be like.

Alternatively, you could get an apprenticeship with a large regional employer. Watch Leanne’s video to see how she has found working for L.J. Monks.

You may well end up working for an organisation which you wouldn’t think of when thinking about electricians or plumbers. Look at Danielle’s story to see what her experiences have been like working for a Housing Association.

Finally, read about the experiences of the JTL apprentices who are working on a massive construction project like Heathrow Terminal 5.
