Looking for a job?

Once you are on the JTL Approved Candidate List you need to look for an employer who will employ you during you’re apprenticeship.

It can take quite a while so you need to think about doing this the moment you apply for a place on a JTL apprenticeship. JTL will do all we can to help with finding a suitable employer by circulating your details to all companies in your local area who tell us that they want to take on an apprentice. If they are interested in you they will let us know and we will tell you or they may actually contact you direct to arrange an interview.

But It's Down To You

However, finding a job is down to you and you cannot start you’re apprenticeship until you are employed full-time. So don’t leave it to JTL as there is no guarantee that we will be able to find you an employer. It is a good idea to help yourself, and show some initiative, by getting in touch yourself with as many local companies as you can.

Make the most of Connexions and your school’s careers tutors. Industry trade bodies could be a good starting point for finding local company details, use local directories such as Yellow Pages and don’t forget the local newspapers.

And of course, don’t forget the Internet! These are just a few links that can provide lots of help and advice.
