Starting Work
WILL I NEED SPECIAL FOOTWEAR
Yes! Work sites can be dangerous places with many potential hazards,
so you must arrive on-site with the correct footwear to protect your
feet. Trainers and other types of canvas shoe are NOT suitable and
should not be worn on-site.
Your employer will complete a risk assessment of the working environment and where necessary, you may be required to wear safety boots or shoes, which they will supply free of charge. These should be capable of giving your feet, especially the toes and instep, good protection against sharp and falling objects with most having steel reinforced toecaps and additional protection around other vulnerable areas.
