What is an Advanced Apprenticeship?

Advanced Apprenticeships are high quality work-based training programmes, allowing young people between the ages of 16 and 24 to develop their prospects and follow a rewarding career whilst you:
- become a qualified craftsperson
- gain a nationally recognised qualification
- build up knowledge and skills learning on the job
- earn while you learn
Usually taking up to four years to complete, as a JTL apprentice you’ll be in full-time employment with a local company receiving a decent wage from day one. You’ll spend time learning about your trade by gaining hands-on experience working on-site with your employer and you’ll attend a college or training centre to learn the theoretical knowledge you’ll need.
JTL training schemes are approved by both the industry and Government and lead to NVQ Level 3 – the equivalent of 2 A Levels. When you complete your JTL apprenticeship you’ll be recognised by the industry as a fully qualified:
