WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
You should always dress in suitable clothes for the work that you
will be doing, although different employers can have differing
requirements.
Some companies expect you to report to the office on your first day so that you can be given an induction talk about the rules and procedures of the company. If this happens, then arrive smartly dressed, in comfortable clothing suitable for an office environment. However, in most cases you will be asked to report directly to the site so should be prepared for site work.
At times your job will be messy and you will be in situations where oil and dirt could damage your clothes. Your employer will advise you on the appropriate clothing to wear and inform you of any specific items of clothing that they will supply.
Some companies provide overalls, which you will be expected to wear. Normally you are given more than one set, so that you will always be clean and smartly dressed, an important factor both in terms of your personal hygiene and projecting the best company image.
