Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Training Course

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides a choice of pathways, a core module and an end point assessment (EPA). There is also an opportunity to transfer Level 2 City and Guilds Electronic Security and Emergency Systems (1853) and Providing Electronic Security and Emergency Systems (2882) to this new apprenticeship.

Entry requirements will be determined by the employer. Apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to completion of their apprenticeship.

This apprenticeship is currently available in the Midlands and London regions. The typical completion time is 36 months.

Pathway options

Learners can choose a specific pathway in one of the following four options to suit their individual careers:

Fire – the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of fire detection, alarm and other emergency systems.

Security – the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of intruder and holdup alarms, access control, video surveillance (CCTV) and other electronic security systems.

Fire and emergency lighting - the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of fire detection and alarm, emergency light systems and other emergency systems.

Fire and security - the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of fire detection, alarm and other emergency systems, intruder and holdup alarms, access control, video surveillance (CCTV) and other electronic security systems.

Professional Registration

By the end of this apprenticeship the apprentice will have satisfied the requirements for EngTech registration by the Engineering Council.
