Find out more about JTL apprenticeships at our Open Day

16 October 2015     JTL

Apprenticeships can be the perfect opportunity for anyone who is not looking to pursue further academic study and who wants to avoid student debt. They provide essential skills for the modern workplace while enabling them to earn while they learn.

JTL is holding an open day on Thursday 22nd October 2015 from 3pm to 8pm at our National Centre of Excellence in Mill Street, Birmingham. Those attending will get the chance to find out about JTL’s range of apprenticeships in electrical, plumbing, engineering maintenance and heating & ventilating, and to talk to the tutors and trainers. There are options available for full or part-time groups at level 2, so there are opportunities for anyone who wants to take a closer look into the opportunities open to them.

Matt Gray, Electrical Training Manager for JTL, says: “There are still lots of different opportunities out there and apprenticeships may just offer the future you are looking for.

“This Open Day will provide an opportunity to find out about our extensive range of apprenticeships.  Our trainers will be on hand to talk about the opportunities available, and to share their own personal experiences of doing a particular job. It’s a great opportunity to find out more without having to commit to making a decision on the day.

“Apprenticeships offer young people the chance to get ahead of those at university, as not only will they already have a job, they also won’t have the burden of student loans to pay off once they’ve finished their degree courses.

“We would urge anyone interested in finding out more about the apprenticeship option, to join us at our Open Day and find out more. There’s nothing to lose and potentially everything to gain.”

An apprenticeship lasts for between two and four years, and gives participants the opportunity to gain job-specific skills, to study towards a relevant qualification, to work alongside experienced staff and still be earning a wage and receiving holiday pay. And there are no student loans to be paid off which has been an important factor in many of our apprentices’ decisions to come on board.

As well as apprenticeships, JTL also offers a range of full-time and part-time courses in plumbing and electrical skills, so if you do not have an employer at present, why not consider one of these courses as a back-up? They are free of charge if you are aged 16-18, and some of what you learn will count towards the apprenticeship programme when you do get an employer.

For any further information, please come along to the Open Day, or contact JTL directly on 0121 503 5853.
