H&V Employers - Have Your Say!

08 January 2015     JTL

We're urging all our Heating & Ventilating employers to give their views on the revised training standards for apprentices.

A consultation has been launched to gather views on revised standards for building services engineering craftsperson and installer apprentices. We encourage you to take part in this important project to ensure your voice is heard.

Following a Government review of apprenticeships in 2013, these apprenticeships are currently being reviewed to ensure they meet employer needs and provide learners with the right scope and level of competence.

Revised standards, drawn up by a group of industry employers and supported by B&ES, are currently up for consultation allowing the wider industry to view the content and comment on their suitability.

You are being invited to comment on areas such as the duration of the apprenticeships, what an apprentice should be able to do on completion, and the specific knowledge and skills they need to gain during the training programme.

The consultation closes on the 19th January. To view the revised standards and have your say, visit
