It's A-Level results day - good luck, everyone!

13 August 2015     JTL

Today’s the day! It’s Thursday 13 August 2015, and you’re picking up you’re A-Level results. First of all, good luck! We’ve got our fingers crossed for you!

The decisions and choices you make today, and in the near future, could have a real impact on not only the next few years, but on the rest of your life.

While many of you may be heading off to university, others may be looking at all of the options open to them.

We’d like to take a moment of your time to explain again the range of programmes and services that JTL has to offer for young people. We are one of the country’s leading providers of apprenticeships, focussed in the building services engineering sector. Our success rates are higher than the national average in electrical, plumbing, engineering maintenance and heating and ventilating apprenticeships, and we pride ourselves on offering young people a high-quality work-based learning experience.

As our Results Day blog explains, an apprenticeship can be perfect for people who might be more practically-minded. It also gives young people the opportunity to “earn while they learn”, as they work towards a four-year qualification that can provide them with a trade for life, whilst still bringing in some money each month.

Apprenticeships are not the be-all and end-all of what JTL can offer, though. Our traineeships programme gives young people aged 16-18 the chance to get themselves “work-ready” for a career.

At our National Centre of Excellence in Birmingham, we also offer full-time courses, which comprise the theoretical side of JTL’s apprenticeship programmes, and can act as the ideal stepping stone towards further vocational learning activities, including apprenticeships.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be holding two events at our National Centre of Excellence in Birmingham, where you can come along and find out more about the range of services JTL have to offer. On August 26, we’re hosting a GCSE Open Day, and on September 2, an Open Interview Day. At these events, there will be JTL staff on-hand to answer any questions you might have about the building services engineering industry, and potentially even sign you up and get you started on one of our programmes.

Once again, best of luck to everyone collecting their A-Level results today.
