JTL East Midlands Apprentice of the Year Awards

10 November 2014     JTL

Leicester Tigers’ Welford Road will play host to the JTL East Midlands Apprentice of the Year 2014 Awards on tomorrow (11th November 2014) night.

The event will see six of the regions most impressive apprentices come together with friends, family and various employers and industry figures to celebrate their success, with one of the six crowned “JTL East Midlands Apprentice of the Year 2014” by the end of the night.

The six candidates include four electrical apprentices: Tomas Boswell, of Seymour and Castle Ltd, Joe Dudley, of Derry Building Services Ltd, and Joe Roderick and Phoebe Stockford, both of Darke & Taylor Ltd. Alongside these are two plumbing apprentices: Heather Clark, formerly of J Tomlinson Ltd, and now of T & S Heating, and Edward West, of Charnwood Borough Council.

The finalists are all currently undertaking a four-year JTL apprenticeship, and have been nominated for the award by their Regional Training Officer. They are judged on their classroom work, practical abilities and feedback from their employers. As the cream of the crop of this year’s apprentices in the East Midlands area, these are the individuals who have stood out from their peers, having also attended formal interviews with members of the JTL senior management team.

The winner of the East Midlands Apprentice of the Year award will also be put forward as a candidate for the title of “JTL National Apprentice of the Year”. The overall winner of that prestigious title will be announced at an awards ceremony at Drapers’ Hall in London, in February 2015.
