JTL National Awards Ceremony 2016 Preview

29 February 2016     JTL

The time has come again for us to celebrate the best of the best of JTL apprentices, with this year’s National Awards ceremony taking place at Drapers’ Hall in the City of London tomorrow (Tuesday 1 March 2016).

Sixteen Regional Graduation Ceremonies took place across England and Wales at the end of last year, with a Regional Graduate of the Year selected at each event. These Regional Graduates of the Year have now been condensed down into six Apprentice of the Year finalists – one for each of JTL’s six regions – and it is these six individuals who will be vying for the prestigious “JTL Apprentice of the Year” accolade for 2016.

The Apprentice of the Year award will be just one of a number of prizes given out at the event, as we look to pay tribute to a whole range of the individuals and organisations we work alongside, across England and Wales.

This year’s six finalists are all electrical apprentices, with a separate award being handed out for the MES (Mechanical Engineering Services) Apprentice of the Year, as well as prizes for those involved in our traineeship and full-time course programmes.

Daniel Hooper is the finalist from our London and East of England region, employed by Lund Roberts Electrical Engineers and Contractors, while Mitchell Shore, who completed his apprenticeship with M&R Electrical Ltd, represents our Midlands region.

Ryan Cormican, of Intelect UK Ltd, and Neil Richardson, of PPS Electrical Ltd, represent the North East and North West, respectively, while Samantha Jones, of Melvin John Electrical Contracting Ltd, is our finalist from the Southern region. Sam may be a familiar name to some of you, having taken part in the JIB Apprentice Overseas Exchange Scheme last year, when she travelled to New York.

Last but not least is Daniel Herridge, who completed his apprenticeship with Cwmbran Electrical Services Ltd; our finalist from Wales.

Best of luck to all of our finalists, and congratulations to everyone else collecting an award tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you there.
