JTL reaccredited to the Matrix Standard

JTL has been reaccredited to the matrix Standard, demonstrating the high quality of information, advice, and/or guidance provided to support its applicants and apprentices in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals.

Established over 30 years ago, JTL is one of the largest work-based learning providers in England and Wales, working with over 3,800 businesses, training more apprentices than anyone else in the building services engineering sector, and supporting approximately 8,000 learners across four apprenticeship disciplines (Electrical, Plumbing, Heating & Ventilating and Engineering Maintenance).

The matrix Standard is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance (IAG), either as their sole purpose or as part of their service offering.

Commenting on the award, David Consterdine, Head of Quality Assurance and Audit, said: “JTL prides itself on the quality of the service it provides and this external recognition further demonstrates and endorses this. Accredited to the standard since 2009, this is another great result for JTL. Since the last assessment in 2018, JTL has continued to develop its Information, Advice and Guidance service. JTL has introduced the new Additional Learning Support (ALS) team which assesses and provides support for learners with a range of needs, as well as creating a new team of Apprentice Support Officers (ASOs).

“JTL has also strengthened the Diversity, Inclusion and Safeguarding team which covers not just statutory safeguarding requirements, but also works to make JTL and the wider industry more diverse and inclusive. In addition, JTL has been recognised for making strong advances in its use of technology, including the newly introduced smart assessor.”

Roger Chapman, Head of the matrix Service for The Growth Company said: “This is a fantastic achievement for JTL and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available.  The matrix Standard is designed to benchmark organisations against best practice in these areas. With their accreditation success, JTL is working to provide the best possible support to their clients.”
