JTL to host Oxford Training Centre tours

08 April 2016     JTL

JTL will be inviting a select gathering of employers to take part in a guided tour of JTL’s dedicated new Oxford Training Centre at Culham Science Centre, the home of UK nuclear fusion research.

With JTL's electrical training facility at the Centre opening later this month, and the plumbing training facility opening later in the year, employers will get the opportunity to see where the young people will be learning their trades.

Invited guests will be contacted in due course regarding the event, which will see two tours take place on Wednesday 20 April 2016 - one from 3pm to 4pm for plumbing, and one from 4pm to 5pm for electrical.

JTL staff will be on hand to show guests around the state-of-the-art facility and explain apprenticeship options and future funding arrangements.

All guests should be aware that as this is a high security nuclear site, access will be denied to those who are not on the guest list. Prior booking with JTL and photographic proof of identity on the day are essential.

The new 8,500 sq ft training centre provides:

• Training now for electrical learners and, from September 2016, training for Plumbing and Heating and Ventilating apprentices
• Facilities for up to 180 learners
• Tailor-made block-release support for learners from anywhere in the country
• Brand new AM2 centre (AM2 is the final assessment of occupational competence for those wanting to be electricians)
• Classrooms for holding short electrical courses including the essential 17th Edition and Inspection & Testing

JTL's new training facilities will be at the Culham Science Centre, Oxford
