JTL's collaboration with leading electrical wholesaler Newey & Eyre during National Apprenticeship Week 2015 proved to be a great success, further highlighting the industry's demand for skilled apprentices.

Throughout this year's National Apprenticeship Week, JTL and Newey & Eyre came together to host a number of drop-in sessions at the wholesaler's branches across the country. These sponsored breakfast events were a first for the industry, with venues such as Newcastle, Cardiff and Southampton visted by individuals given the opportunity to find out more about apprenticeship developments in the industry, and provided with useful advice on training and development in the electrical industry.

JTL training officers were also on hand throughout the events, answering questions, encouraging contractors to learn more about the benefits that taking on apprentices can offer, and helping them to consider their staffing and recruitment plans.

Luke Biddle, Marketing Manager of Newey & Eyre, said: "Our JTL collaboration was hugely successful, and it was very encouraging to see so many contractors come along to learn about the apprenticeship and training opportunities on offer."

JTL's Director of Operations, Caroline Turner, said: "With the economy finally on the up and the work books getting busier, it is the opportune time for contractors who aren't already doing so to consider the apprenticeship route.

"It's not only vital to the future of the industry, but also provides enormous benefits for employers looking to expand their workforce with fresh new talent."
