NICEIC Apprentice of the Year 2020

Electrical Apprentice of the year 2020

Three JTL learners reach the final of NICIEC Apprentice of the Year 2020 competition

We’re delighted to announce Three JTL electrical learners – James White, Oliver Jordan and Katie Harvey – have each reached the final of the NICEIC Apprentice of the Year 2020 competition. James and Oliver who both attend Eastleigh College near Southampton and Katie who attends the JTL Oxford Training Centre battled through two intense rounds to make it into the final. Sadly, the event organisers NICEIC and ELECSA have confirmed the final has been cancelled due to Covid-19, however each finalist will receive prize bundles from the NICEIC, Scolmore Group and Voltimum to mark their achievement.

Darren Staniforth, Senior Technical Presenter at NICEIC & ELECSA said ‘It is with deep regret that we have decided to halt this year’s Apprentice of the Year Competition [due to Covid-19]. 2020 was shaping up to be our best year yet with a high number of applicants demonstrating an exceptional level of competence.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to name an overall winner; still, we would like to thank all of the apprentices who applied and encourage each of them to remain focused on developing their skills and succeeding in this trade.’
