Success for JTL apprentices in ECA Edmundson Apprentice of The Year Award 2018

The recently announced ECA Edmundson Apprentice of the Year Award 2018 saw the first three places in the competition taken by JTL apprentices from across the UK.

The winner was Jack Teasdale who works for Opus Building Services in Tyne and Wear. He won prizes which include £1500 and a study tour to France sponsored by industry manufacturer Hager. He will also be an ambassador for the electrotechnical industry over the next 12 months. Opus Building Services is owned by a former JTL apprentice Gavin Richardson, who himself won the ECA Edmundson Apprentice of the Year Award in 1997.

In second place this year was Niall Watson from Derry Building Services and in third place was Conor McCarthy of Darke and Taylor, both of whom are JTL apprentices.

“This was more excellent news for JTL,” says JTL Chief Executive Jon Graham. “It says a huge amount about the quality of training that we are able to give these apprentices when the top three in one year have all been JTL apprentices. Its something we see quite often that winners of major awards in the electrical and heating and plumbing sectors have been tutored by JTL training officers and have been part of the programme that we provide across England and Wales. Our congratulations go to Jack, Niall and Conor for their efforts and we wish all three the best in their future careers.”
